Powder River

The Powder River project  was an ODOT job located just South of Baker City, Oregon. The project was primarily an earth moving project which required excavation and embankment of 42,000 CY of material blasted from a bluff that was part of the realignment for HWY 7. The largest cut section on this project required Presplit Blasting work to bring down the face for the new road section.  There were two bridges that required demolition and new replacement. Due to the location of the existing highway along the Powder River, the embankments required sub-grade stabilization to be constructed for the new Road alignment. At the Southern Rancheria Bridge location, MEI built a temporary Detour around the existing bridge, which was removed entirely in order to allow for the construction of the new Bridge.
