PROJECT MANAGER

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in management of heavy/civil construction projects including excavation, grading, underground utilities, road/highway construction, and structures.

  • Extensive experience successfully managing projects $5M plus preferred.

  • Diverse project resume including private, municipal, federal, and state DOT projects and projects completed as both prime and subcontractor.

  • Proven client relations, organizational, decision-making, communication, and supervisory skills.

  • BA/BS Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience preferred.

  • Excellent computer proficiency including MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Project, Etc.); HCSS Heavy Bid and Heavy Job. Thorough knowledge of construction field operations, financial management, and general business management.

  • Washington and/or Oregon project experience preferred.

 

 

Project Engineer

  • Some knowledge of the estimating and management of heavy/civil construction projects including excavation, grading, underground utilities, road/highway construction, and structures preferred.

  • Excellent computer proficiency including MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Project, Etc) required. Knowledge of industry specific applications such as HCSS Heavy Bid; AGTEK; AutoCAD; etc preferred.

  • Some knowledge of construction field operations, financial management, and general business management preferred.

  • Proven organizational, decision-making, and communication skills required.

  • BA/BS Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience preferred.

 

 

heavy equipment OPERATOR

  • Safely and productively operate machinery assigned. Adapt to changing environment including traffic, soil conditions and weather.

  • Operate a range of equipment sizes and types including excavators, wheel & track loaders, dozers, compactors, articulated and ridged frame haul truck, wheel scrapers, tractors, graders.

  • Handling and/or moving of material.

  • Work safely and follow all company policies.

  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of work place safety and environmental practices.

  • Perform general labor duties as required.

 

 

superintendents and foreman

  • Lead and supervise crew to safely and efficiently execute the work assigned.

  • Training of employees in safety procedures and ensuring that all procedures are followed.

  • Setting a good example and upholding company policies and procedures.

  • Reviewing and/or correcting time-cards, daily work reports, and other paperwork generated in the field.

  • Training employees in the proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment.

  • Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.

  • Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quantity, equipment operation/repair, etc.) Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers, and mangers/supervisors.

  • Ensure MSHA/OSHA/EPA/DNR, Lockout/Tagout, safety environmental regulation compliance.

 

 

LABORERs and pipe layers

  • Perform a variety of labor tasks safely.

  • Always properly use the appropriate PPE for intended use and application.

  • Clear and prepare work zones.

  • Dig Trenches.

  • Operate small powered hand tools.

  • May operate small equipment including bobcat, tractor or roller.

  • Communicate clear instructions and prompt hand signals to equipment operators.

  • Follow both written and verbal instruction given by Foremen, Superintendents and others.

  • Properly sealing/grouting manholes, inlets, removing trees and debris etc.

  • Mix and pump concrete, grout, cement, sand, or plaster.

  • Install traffic control devices, clear and prepare highway work zones.

 

 

dump truck driver

  • Responsible for the efficient, safe and cost-effective operation of the company’s truck to which they are assigned.

  • Expected to follow all safety rules and regulations imposed by OSHA, the State of Oregon, the Federal Government and Moore Excavation, Inc.

  • Must have and maintain a current Commercial Driver’s License (with a Class A endorsement for air brakes and tankers) with a good driving record and a current health card.

  • Responsible for keeping dispatch aware of traffic, slowdowns or any other potential problems.

  • Responsible to tell dispatch and shop foreperson about any necessary maintenance or mechanical issues.

  • Responsible for filling out timecards correctly; daily logs, damage reports, load count reports within a timely and concise manner.

  • Must have the knowledge to adjust truck brakes, vital fluids, engine and general knowledge of operating dump trucks, lowboys, hydraulic end dumps, belly dumps, water trucks and flatbed trucks.

  • Must be able to fuel and grease truck and/or equipment on an as needed basis.

  • Provides assistance as necessary to pipe layers, laborers, operators and others in the field.

  • Occasionally responsible for pic up and delivery of supplies and equipment.

  • Must perform general labor duties as necessary or requested including frequent heavy lifting, shoveling, carrying, etc. 

 

 

heavy equipment Mechanic

  • Responsible for general maintenance and repair work on the construction equipment and trucks.

  • Responsible for maintaining shop area in clean and orderly condition at all times.

  • Responsible for notifying Shop Superintendent and Foreperson of shortages, repairs or replacement of needed tools or supplies.

  • Demonstrates ability to work around and safely handle fuel, petroleum products, and other hazardous materials.

  • Able to operate a forklift safely and effectively.

  • Occasionally responsible for pickup and delivery of supplies and equipment.
